Canterbury. Dec 18, 2021. #1. I’m battling with a engine cut out problem. so, I run a Fiat 500L 1970 with a 126 650cc engine. The car starts no problems, runs no problems until I stop for a while. Then when I re start the car starts, pulls away and starts to splutter. The engine nearly stops just ticks over or sometimes stops.The message means that should you have a crash the fuel cut off won’t engage which is a safety feature which cuts off the fuel supply. This does not affect the driving of the car and won’t set off an airbag.

Obviously your engine shouldn't be running if the fuel cut off is triggered as it stops the fuel pump (or supposed to) so the fact you're getting "fuel cut off" warning then it's getting a signal as if it has been triggered. If you can, try disconnecting the inertia switch connector I50. This will stop the fuel pump running
Jul 22, 2010. #1. Started the car up this evening. Had the key twisted but had not yet cranked it, and I had a yellow triangle with exclamation mark in it, with a warning message saying 'fuel cut off unavailable'. I then cranked it up and the message went but the triangle didn't. Turned off the engine and back on but the message didn't reappear.
